In our report from early March, “Mira, Miranda”, the CEO Ken Cunningham explicitly states that 2012 would be a more “active year” than even 2011, which had already seen the most activity on its projects in its history.
Thus his projection of 2012 as an “active year” takes on deeper significance with today’s announcement that drilling is starting on Miranda Gold’s Red Hill and Coal Canyon Project.
Reading between the lines, exploration begins on a very propitious area which happens to be on the very same prolific gold trend as Barrick’s multi-million ounce Red Hill/Goldrush discoveries.
Miranda believes that their Red Hill project is on trend with Barrick’s and their drill hole BRH-013 is the most significant intercept outside of Barrick’s holdings in the Cortez Trend.
A positive development so close to Barrick could possibly generate interest.
