Is There Enough Lithium and Graphite to Meet the Increasing Global Demand from Manufacturers?

I have been following the blossoming of the lithium boom over the past few years and my readers have seen the huge amount of growth over the past two years. My readers have followed the stories of top performers such as Western Lithium (WLC.TO or WLCDF) and Pure Energy Minerals (PE.V or HMGLF). Those two stocks were champions during a brutal bear market in junior miners for good reason. Investors are growing more convinced about the growth of electric vehicles especially with the popularity of the Tesla (TSLA) brand and enthusiastic leader Elon Musk whose goal is to put 500k electric vehicles on the road by the beginning of the next decade. Problem for Musk is there isn't enough lithium and graphite right now to fill that demand. So Tesla has been signing deals with lithium junior miners such as Pure Energy (PE.V or HMGLF) and Bacanora to possibly secure supply and pricing. Yet graphite has been completely ignored so far. This should change soon as lithium ion batteries require much more graphite than lithium to operate.

Lithium Continued To Excite Investors in 2015, Will Stock Market Crash Bring Back Interest to Junior Mining?

Over the past year I have studied the content of my blog and would like to report which are my top articles and videos in terms of unique page views in 2015. Clearly, my top content in terms of interest from readers in 2015 was the lithium sector where we are continuing to see demand outstrip supply. It was one of the only commodities rising in price while the sector was wiped out by a strong dollar. The August correction in the stock market brought back retail interest over the summer. I expect as tax loss selling ends today to begin to see a rally in the new year. This rally is called the January Effect where beaten down sectors bounce as fund managers look to re-position in the new year.

Jeb Handwerger: “Early innings of a great lithium-ion battery boom”

Don't buy things that are trending on Twitter or the front page of USA Today, warns Gold Stock Trades publisher Jeb Handwerger. Buy them when they are unloved and on the back page. In this interview with The Energy Report, he singles out the unloved companies that could become media darlings in the coming boom in energy metals, uranium and—eventually—oil sectors. And he stresses the importance of the single most important commodity in the investing space ever—time.

Where Is Tesla Going To Get The Lithium and Graphite for The “Gigafactory”?

Lithium Ion batteries aren't just for cars and mobile computing. For months, I highlighted the growing use of lithium-ion batteries for energy storage solutions. Tesla Motors (TSLA) known for making top notch electric cars is making a major move into building battery systems aimed at residences, commercial buildings and for power companies. These batteries could provide the answer for intermittent energy sources like sun or wind which is dependent on the weather. Solar or wind is great but what happens when the sun goes down or the wind isn't blowing. Tesla believes they can provide the solution through rechargeable lithium ion batteries that can be placed in homes or businesses storing energy and providing stability for intermittent renewable sources. Tesla has spent millions of dollars in battery research for their electric cars, now management believes that they can use that technology outside of the automobile sector. So where does the real opportunity lie? The real question is where will the raw material needed for these Tesla batteries come from? Does Tesla have any off-take arrangements yet?

Great Gains To Be Made in the Lithium Ion Battery Sector Over Next 5 Years

It is unbelievable to see the growing demand for lithium ion batteries in our everyday lives. Just sit in a coffee shop or ride a bus and observe the users of portable computing devices. Its not just the average Joe using lithium ion batteries and plugging in, large utilities are looking to use these batteries to support the grid and renewable energy sources. A lot of money is going to be made in the nascent battery sector over the next five years especially right here in the United States. According to GTM Research, The US commercial battery storage market has been predicted to grow at a rate of 34% annually from 2014 – 2020.

Did Tesla Choose Nevada To Be Close To This Junior Lithium Miner Up 450% in Past Year?

For years I have been bullish on the growth of the lithium-ion battery in its use in smartphones, tablets, laptops and electric vehicles. It is becoming the battery of choice as the consumer looks to power up on the go. Weeks ago I wrote about a game changing M&A event that could spark a huge rally in the lithium and graphite sector. When Albermarle (ALB) paid $6.2 billion to buy Rockwood (ROC), the world's largest publicly traded lithium producer, I knew it was only a matter of time before our carefully selected junior miners get noticed by the smart money and large institutional funds. Now our feature graphite miner was just acquired. Is it just a matter of time before our featured lithium miner is taken over?

Lithium and Graphite Sector is Jumpstarting With Investor Interest

Its a very exciting time for the lithium and graphite sector as Tesla announces big plans in the near term. The announcement of a Tesla Lithium Ion Gigafactory in North America has jumpstarted the junior mining graphite and lithium sector as I discussed in this last article more than a month ago. Look at Western Lithium, Northern Graphite, Flinders Resources and Big North Graphite which have all recently made major moves. The lithium and graphite miners are still undervalued and the boom may be just beginning as there could be a major increase in demand for these batteries critical for cars,
